The COVID-19 pandemic shut down most association workplaces in 2020 – with remote work becoming the norm for virtually all associations – but as vaccine distribution continues to increase in early 2021, many associations are already planning their post-pandemic return the office. But at the same time, the past year has shown many associations how effectively, efficiently and successfully they can operate remotely. The result has been a realization by many associations that they can save significant resources by having some – or, in some cases, all – of their employees work remotely from their homes, and at the same time, improve employee morale and satisfaction. As such, many associations are contemplating hybrid and virtual workforces, with some looking to move to a virtual-only work environment.
Unfortunately, for associations locked into multi-year office leases – as is the norm – getting from here to there is no easy task. Associations looking to get out of their leases or downsize their office “footprint” are running headstrong into office leases that generally provide no allowance for such unilateral actions by tenants.
What is an association to do? Fortunately, we have distinguished speakers to tackle these daunting challenges. Our panel will feature two seasoned, accomplished commercial real estate professionals – an attorney and a broker – who do extensive work with associations and are working with many associations now on these issues. Moderated by one of the country’s leading association attorneys, this interactive webinar should prove to be of great interest and importance to all associations with office leases. Come armed with your questions and be prepared for real-time, practical advice, guidance and tips for dealing with your associations’ office leases and workplace strategies post-pandemic.
