MASAE has transformed its Mid-Year Meeting into a series of four webinars over four weeks in June. Our over-arching theme for the virtual conference is “Reflecting Forward: Tools to Succeed in Unfamiliar Territory.” The last year has been full of challenges for many association professionals. By reflecting on what we’ve learned and accomplished over the last several months, we hope to provide you with tools that will help set you and your organization up for success as we go into the next phase of normalcy.

You can't plan a crisis but you can have a crisis plan. Crisis communications has gone from an occasionally mentioned discussion point to now a trending topic. For marketing and communications (marcomm) professionals, having a crisis communication plan in place is a must – but what if you don’t have a marcomm professional on your team to make one? This session provides the top “must-haves” of your crisis communication plan and most importantly, how to effectively and efficiently communicate it to your audiences.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the key elements of a crisis communications plan
  • Understand the steps that need to be taken during any kind of crisis, internal or external
  • Learn general principles of communicating with media, stakeholders, and other audiences

Speaker:
Lauren Schoener-Gaynor
Director of Marketing and Communications
Talley Management Group, Inc.

Lauren has 15 years of experience in both corporate and nonprofit marketing and communications, developing award-winning campaigns for various client partners. She has an extensive background in public relations, marketing, communications, social media and digital marketing. Her “out of the box” ideas set her campaigns and headlines apart from the rest, a trait that has landed her clients in The New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and featured on national shows such as Good Morning America, The Today Show and World News Tonight with David Muir.

Before joining Talley Management Group, Inc. in 2018, Lauren spent five years in the association management industry representing medical, scientific, entrepreneurial and corporate organizations with both national and international membership. Lauren has expertise in advocacy and awareness campaigns as well as crisis communications, having the ability to communicate messaging to any kind of audience.
